About Riversdale Restoration

Riversdale Restoration was set up in 2010 to provide a high quality restoration service for race cars and classic vehicles from the 1950s and 60s.

Eddie Hopkins has been restoring cars with his father John, an ex aircraft engineer, for over 20 years starting, with Elans and Europas and then moving onto Climax Elites. In recent years they have specialised in aluminium bodied historic Lotus cars, such as the Lotus 6, 7 and Lotus Elevens. Eddie still owns his first Lotus, a 1969 Lotus Elan +2S which he used as his everyday car for many years. Eddie and John are passionate about the restoration of race cars and classic vehicles, particularly historic Lotus cars, they are members of the Historic Lotus Register and the Historic Lotus Club, Club Lotus and Club Elite.

Cars restored by Eddie and John are often present at club gatherings and track meetings and, with a number of their historic Lotus cars having FIA papers, more of these will be appearing in competitive historic racing in the coming years. Eddie and John are always keen to discuss the restoration of race cars and classic vehicles that have been restored by Riversdale Restoration, as well as our ongoing projects. In addition, Eddie has a number of customers looking for specific cars, so if you are looking to sell your old race car or historic Lotus, Eddie would be happy to put you in touch with a potential new owner.
